CSFL Launched for Pre-ECNL-NPL Development

Four Major Clubs Have Come Together to Form the New Venture

Exciting Announcement!

CSFL to Begin Play in Fall 2013

Four of the most prominent clubs in the midwest have come together to form a new development league that will provide additional exposure and development opportunities in the "Pre-ECNL/NPL" age groups -- U10-12 B&G.

St. Louis Scott Gallagher (IL), Lobos/Rush (TN), Springfield SC (MO) and TSC Hurricane (OK) have been working hard on the planning for the Central State Future League (CSFL) so that it will begin play in the Fall 2013.

The clubs identified a need for a system of play for clubs from this part of the country to have the opportunities that allow for true development at the younger ages.  The new league will utilize the 9v9 and 11v11 formats, provide a "game day event" atmosphere, and adds a Player Development Program (PDP) component that is modeled after the ECNL and NPL PDPs.  The CSFL is also structured in a way to minimize the travel and costs for these younger ages while still providing top level competition in an event style atmosphere.

"We are excited to be working with these other top clubs in bringing a new level of competition for our younger ages.  Because of our current competitive landscape, it is more of a challenge for our younger teams (especially our U10s) to participate in higher level league competitions while still keeping travel and costs to a minimum.  This is why we put our heads together to create new programming that will provide added value from a development standpoint," says Jim Tindell, TSC Hurricane Executive Director.

The CSFL will be held over four weekends during the 2013-14 seasonal year.

SLSG hosts SSC and Tennessee Rush the first weekend of Sept 14-15, 2013.  TSC Hurricane will then host SLSG and SSC the weekend of the adidas Sam Shannon Showcase, Nov 23-24, 2013, providing a true "event" atmosphere for the CSFL squads.  The TSC Hurricane teams will then be in Springfield March 29-30, 2014 (date updated 1-8-14), to play SSC and Tennessee Rush.  All clubs will then come together in Memphis on May 10-11, 2014, for a "finals weekend" based on the results of the first 3 events.  The Final Weekend will also include the PDP event for all of the players selected by the CSFL scouts.
