Tulsa SC Takes on WPSL Newcomer DKSC BADTOP in Season Opener

 

TULSA - Your 2-Time Northern Division Champions kickoff the 2022 WPSL season tonight as they travel down south to take on newcomer DKSC BADTOP from the Dallas - Fort Worth Metropolitan area. 3-Time Franchise of the Year, Tulsa SC is looking to build on their already prestigious club accomplishments as they seek to reclaim the Red River Championship title. Tulsa SC went 7-1-0 last season through divisional play while also being undefeated on home turf. 

This year the team will be led by Tulsa SC Girl’s Academy Director Aaron Crouch, Coach Lewis Amos and, Nathan Doll will be alongside Coach Crouch as they were named assistant coaches for the 2022 season. Tulsa SC’s Girl’s Director of Coaching Yolanda Thomas returns to a familiar role as she will oversee the WPSL team as the club's Sporting Director once again, and Coach Tina Banham is back with the WPSL squad as she was named the General Manager for the 2022 season.

I expect DKSC to have a very talented team, so this first game holds the opportunity for us to make a big statement in the Red River Conference this season. Our team has had a lot of success in previous seasons, and we have a lot of returning, experienced players, so I expect Wednesday to be a clash of 2 fantastic teams. The Tulsa SC 2022 Team is composed of 30 total players, with over 20 players who are current NCAA collegiate-athlete participants. This includes the likes of 2021 Red River Conference Goalkeeper of the Year Peyton Pearson - Oklahoma State University, 2021 All-conference honoree Mollie Breiner - Oklahoma State Universityand 2021 Tulsa SC leading goal scorer Mia Darden -University of Tulsa AlumThere are also many club youth players joining the team again this season including University of Arkansas Commit Makenzie Malham, sister to former Tulsa SC WPSL standout and Current Racing Louisville NWSL player Taylor Malham, and 2021 Player of the Match vs. FC Dallas and Kansas State University Commit Andra Mohler.
