Tulsa SC Falls In Home Opener 1-2 to DKSC

A chance for redemption as Tulsa SC took on DKSC this evening for the home opener of the 2022 Women’s Premier League Season (WPSL). Tulsa SC was on the attack from the first whistle when they saw their first shot on goal within the first 8 minutes, but it would trail off for a goal kick. Tulsa SC saw another early opportunity when Andra Mohler played the ball out to an open Ramsey Davis, but was unable to get full control before it went out for a goal kick. Tulsa SC forward Bri Amos was able to capitalize on a DKSC mistake and put Tulsa SC on the scoreboard first in the 12minute. Tulsa saw another opportunity to go up 2-0 when Bri Amos sent one long to an open Zoe McCabe, but it was collected by the DKSC defense. DKSC found themselves on their heels and quickly turned it around as they sent multiple attacks on the Tulsa SC defense and would eventually be rewarded with a goal in the 33’ minute. Tulsa SC would have its last opportunity to go up again in the 41st minute when Mia Darden had an open shot but it was sent directly into the hands of the DKSC goalkeeper. Each team would then head into the half with one point each.

At the start of the second half, Tulsa SC would find an early opportunity when Bri Amos fired the ball off at the whistle, which would be converted for a Tulsa SC corner. In the 49’ minute, Ramsey Davis saw an opportunity and took her shot, but it was collected by the DKSC goalkeeper. Tulsa SC would continue to have many chances and shots on goal but would all fall into the hands of the DKSC keeper. In the 70’ minute, Tulsa SC had two opportunities with double headers towards the goal but was saved by the DKSC keeper. DKSC would turn the ball over quickly to put them up 1-2. Tulsa SC continued to push their moment forward  in an attempt to tie the game, but unfortunately was not in their favor tonight.

"After the first goal, we definitely didn’t push like we should have in order to secure a second goal and we got a little complacent." Going into the second half, we had a game plan and it was going very well... Unfortunately, we couldn’t put one in the back of the net "said Coach Aaron Crouch.
