Match Recap: Tulsa SC vs. FC Dallas

Tulsa SC Falls On The Road 0-1 At FC Dallas 

TULSA - Tulsa SC fell on the road this evening 0-1 to FC Dallas in a highly contested match between two of the premier teams in the Red River Northern Division. At the start of the match, it was FC Dallas who took the first look on goal as they had a cross in the first three minutes of the match and the possession went out for a corner. Tulsa SC’s first look came from forward Bri Amos as she flicked the ball over FC Dallas defender, but the ball was saved by the keeper. As the teams battled back and forth for the next ten minutes it would be FC Dallas who would put one on the board first in the 15’ minute. Tulsa SC would the go on to have a chance to tie up the match when in the 24’ minute Mia Darden fired a shot at goal. Unfortunately, it was deflected for a Tulsa SC throw in. Tulsa SC would see another opportunity in the closing minutes of the first half when forward Ramsey Davis crossed the ball above the face of the goal, but unfortunately Tulsa SC would not be able to capitalize on the opportunity. Tulsa SC headed into the half down one to FC Dallas. 

As the second half got underway Tulsa SC was able to keep FC Dallas on the defense with numerous offensive opportunities. Tulsa SC would see a chance for the tying point when Ramsey Davis served a ball across the goal to Morgan Schaefer who was unable to get a head on the ball. Tulsa SC had another opportunity in the 63’ minute when midfielder Makenzie Malham sent a ball through the FC Dallas defense which would find Mia Darden open in front of the goal, but not able to get a touch on the ball and finish the play. Tulsa SC saw its best opportunity of the second half when Bri Amos had a shot on goal but would get cleared away at the goal line. In the 87’ minute Tatum Sanders had two back-to-back saves to keep the score deficit to one. In the final minutes of the match Tulsa SC would see another opportunity of hope by way of Bri Amos who crossed the ball to Kayla Fernandez but was not able to get a clear head the ball to direct it towards goal. Tulsa SC unable to tie up the match and will head home as they look towards Saturday for its home opener. Tonight’s player of the match was awarded to Goalkeeper Tatum Sanders. 

 

What’s next?

Tulsa SC will be back in action this Saturday, June 4th for its season home opener at they take on DKSC. Saturday’s home opener is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 P.M.; the first 100 kids in attendance will receive a mini-soccer ball giveaway item.
